Illustration and hand-drawn type lend a human warmth to posters.
White Buffalo Woman, a band out of northeast Ohio, asked me to help them design a poster for an upcoming show, so I found inspiration in gritty prints and vintage typefaces to mirror their classic sound.
As the coordinator of Montserrat's Bear Gallery, I often made my own posters for upcoming shows. The Gillian Welch gig poster that I designed was also completely hand-drawn at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
